Sample Bequest LanguageThank you for considering the Virginia Outdoors Foundation in your estate plans. Below is sample bequest language that we hope you will find helpful in your discussion with your attorney. VOF cannot provide tax or legal advice. [Download this information as a single-page PDF] Specific Bequest: directs a dollar amount or particular assets, such as securities or tangible personal property (such as works of art), to VOF.
Residuary Bequest: directs all or part of the balance of a donor’s estate to a beneficiary after each of the specific bequests has been satisfied.
Contingent Bequest: provides for the disposition of a donor’s estate if one or more of the named beneficiaries fails to survive the donor.
Restricted Bequest: directs assets to be used for a specific purpose. If you are considering designating your bequest for a specific purpose, please contact the Development Office at (804) 840-2388. We are available to discuss what you want to accomplish through your gift and can provide sample language for you and your attorney to review.
